Wildlands Tour of the Southern Blues

Join biologist, author, and educator Mike Denny on a tour of birds and firerecovery of the Southern Blue Mountains.Our first stop will be to Scotty Creek, making several stops in on the way.After, we will head to Starr Ridge, where we will view the recovery of theburned area, and the plants, insects, and birds that have moved back sincethe Canyon Creek Fire in 2015.The next stop will be at the Old Growth Ponderosa Pine trail & restroom,where we will look for several pine dwelling bird species such as the White-headed Woodpecker, the Pygmy Nuthatch, and Red Crossbills. We willthen head to scotty Creek to view the early summer birds, native flowers,and insects of the area.
